Ambience

The ambience of the bakehouse was cozy, elegant, and very aesthetically designed. It was clear to see that they had taken inspiration from the various bakeries in and around Europe and tried to emulate them as best as they could, and I feel they had managed to do a fabulous job.

Quality Of Food (Taste, Service & Presentation)

The service of the bakery was good. Most of the dishes that I had ordered were presented well and served in good time, apart from the veg coleslaw sandwich, which looked great but took an unusually long time to prepare.

The service staff was very courteous and helpful. They were dressed in a black and white uniform, which gave them a very smart and professional look.

Dishes Ordered

I ordered their special L’amour cold coffee, Veg coleslaw sandwich, and a Lemon tart.

L’amour Cold Coffee

First up came their special and highly rated L’amour cold coffee. It was served chilled, full till the brim, in a tall glass, along with a stylish metal straw. It had some food art drawn on the glass as well, for some theatre.

The cold coffee was frothy, creamy, rich, and had a strong flavor of coffee running through it, unlike other restaurants, which prefer to keep the flavor of coffee in their beverages quite subtle. Personally, I found it to be a little less sweet compared to the other cold coffees I’ve had in other restaurants, so people who prefer their beverages to be sweet should come prepared beforehand. Nevertheless, it was still delicious and acted as a great accompaniment to go with my meal.

Veg Coleslaw Sandwich

Next up came their Veg Coleslaw Sandwich. I had initially ordered their chicken coleslaw sandwich but sadly, it was unavailable at the time. Hence, I ordered the veg variant of the dish.

The Veg coleslaw sandwich was served on a textured two-sectioned white ceramic plate. The larger section of the plate contained the veg coleslaw sandwich, which was pre-portioned into four smaller triangular sandwiches, whereas a modest dollop of coleslaw was served in the smaller section.

The Veg coleslaw sandwich was tasty, but a little underwhelming to be completely honest. Starting with the positives, I absolutely loved the rich and creamy coleslaw, which was layered between the bread slices and the dollop they had served in the smaller section of the plate, to go with the sandwich. It was made up of a rich and creamy variety of eggless mayonnaise, mixed with a few vegetables like green, red, and yellow capsicum, lettuce, and cabbage, along with some carrots, which were all diced to perfection into small cubes, thereby giving the coleslaw a premium, creamy and crunchy texture.

They had mentioned in the menu card that they had added lettuce and cabbage in the coleslaw as well, but I hardly tasted them at all, as they were dominated by the flavor of the various varieties of capsicum and carrots. I think it would have been great if they had added more finely chopped cabbage and lettuce in their coleslaw, as it would have added more flavor and texture to the entire dish.

Coming to the part of the sandwich which I think they could’ve done much, much better with, was surprisingly the quality of bread that they had used. The bread of the sandwich should have been melt-in-mouth soft, instead, I found their bread to be quite dry and hard, which was disappointing, as being a bakery first and foremost, they should’ve been great at baking top-quality bread. Great sandwiches are all about the flavors of the bread and the filling being in complete harmony with each other, but sadly, they only managed to get one aspect of the dish right.

Lemon Tart

And finally came a dish from their pastries section, the lemon tart. I had read a lot of positive reviews about this particular dish and I was super excited to try it out for myself.

The lemon tart was served on a small white ceramic quarter plate. It was bite-size in make and had a very premium feel to it. It was tangy, sour, rich, creamy, and had a delectable flavor of lemon flowing through it.

The base of the tart was made out of a buttery pastry which was baked to perfection and had a nice bite to it. Next, a generous amount of white sour cream was filled into it to give a nice sour taste to the dish. Lastly, to give the lemon tart its distinct tangy, lemony flavor, a generous layer of yellow lemon cream was layered on top to complete the dish. A few finely chopped shreds of almonds were garnished on top of the tart as well, to give it a premium feel. Together, all the layers combine to give the tart a divine flavor.

It had to be one of the best lemon tarts I’ve had in a long time and the dish of the day for me.

To Eat or Not?

To Eat, definitely.

With their excellent all-wooden, aesthetic ambiance, delicious food, delectable desserts, modest pricing, elaborate menu, and courteous service staff, they are a great place to visit with your loved ones and enjoy a wide range of mouth-watering bakery delicacies.

All the dishes that I ordered were presented well, reasonably priced, and quite filling, but sadly I found their service to be a little too slow, something which I think they can immensely improve upon.

Moving on to the dishes, I was quite satisfied with the quality of the L’amour cold coffee and was absolutely blown away by the delectable lemon tart. Unfortunately, the veg coleslaw sandwich fell slightly below my expectations, mainly due to the fact they had not used the freshest quality of bread available for the sandwich, which was a real pity, as I found its coleslaw filling to be quite delicious.

Overall, I quite enjoyed my visit to this bakehouse, I’m eagerly looking forward to visiting them again soon, to try many more delicious desserts and dishes from their menu.
