Hi foodies! Today I’ll be doing a food review of a popular health food bar near Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Balliwala Chowk, GMS road.
This bar is part of a smoothie bar chain with numerous bars in various cities across India. They are well known for their health foods, serving size, elaborate menu & smoothies.
Come, let’s take a closer look!
Location
Shop No: 3, Nehru Enclave, General Mahadev Singh Rd, near Wadia Institute, Dehradun, Uttarakhand 248001.
The outlet is located along the main GMS road, in a building just off the main road. They have a small area in and around the bar since they are inside the compounds of a building. Finding a parking spot here shouldn’t be difficult as there is ample space in front of the building, as this place is rarely crowded.

Ambience
The ambiance of the health food bar was modern, vibrant, and super hygienic. The main bar was located inside the building, with a few seating options provided outside as well, for customers preferring an open dining experience.
The soothing lighting used in the bar complimented the vibrant colors of the walls and paintings wonderfully, and the grass patches, along with the wooden furniture helped the restaurant emphasize its motto of sustainability and freshness even more clearly.
Quality Of Food (Taste, Service & Presentation)
The service was excellent, as both the dishes that I had ordered took around 5 – 10 minutes each to prepare, which was quite fast in my opinion, and were presented beautifully.
The service staff were top-notch. They were dressed in Drunken Monkey’s trademark yellow and black colored uniform. The main person handling the counter, Mr. Harshul, was courteous and super helpful in providing detailed answers to any of my queries and recommended dishes based on my preferences too, which made my overall experience much better.
One very important point they mentioned was that everything they prepared was made-to-order. Nothing was ever reused from the previous day and only fresh ingredients were used in their freshest state for the best results.
Dishes Ordered
I ordered their Pineapple Magic smoothie and the Dry fruit smoothie bowl.
Pineapple Magic Smoothie
First up came the Pineapple Magic smoothie. They provided me with the option of choosing between having the smoothie in a conventional glass or in their trademark ‘drunken monkey’ glass bottle. I chose their trademark ‘drunken monkey’ glass bottle even though they charged me a little extra for it, as it looked quite unique. They allowed me to take the bottle home too, which was always an added incentive.
It was served chilled and was super refreshing. One could clearly taste the flavor of fresh pineapple coming through the chilly, icy texture of the smoothie. A few small chunks of pineapple were in it as well, which added more taste and texture to the smoothie, along with the frequent, creamy taste of coconut, coming from the little coconut flakes, which they had added to it too. Even though it contained no added sugar, it still had an adequate sweetness to it thanks to all the ripe, fresh fruits they had used in making the smoothie. A great, healthier alternative for anyone looking for a cold beverage to beat the heat.
Dry Fruit Smoothie Bowl
And finally came the day’s standout dish, the dry fruit smoothie bowl. It was served in a stylish round wooden bowl along with a disposable wooden spoon.
It was a very wholesome dish and tasted absolutely divine. It had to be one of the best, if not the best variation of a smoothie I’ve had to date. The smoothie bowl consisted of a cold, sticky base, which was made out of blending several extremely fresh and nutritious ingredients like apple, banana, chikoo, coconut milk, cashews, and almonds, which was then topped off with other rich ingredients like dates, dried figs, pecan nuts, granola, and pumpkin seeds, creating a delectable, sticky, creamy, coconutty and crunchy bowl of deliciousness.

To Eat or Not?
To Eat, for sure.
With its simple yet attractive ambiance, courteous and professional service staff, extremely well-designed and curated menu, and divine smoothies, it is hands down one of the best places to visit if you’ve had enough of tikkas, momos, and noodles and are looking for a fresher, healthier alternative.
Both the dishes that I ordered, the pineapple magic smoothie and the dry fruit smoothie bowl, were absolutely delicious. They were nutritious and tasty in equal measure and their serving portions were quite filling, totally justifying their price. I would have gladly had an extra serving of each if my stomach allowed it.
This was my first visit to this health food bar and what a delightful visit it was. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their other amazing, fresh and delicious concoctions.
On a side note, the smoothies taste great when ordered through online delivery, but they taste much better when had in one of their offline outlets. So do give them a visit if possible for the freshest version of their smoothies.
